Class Descriptions

CHEER

Beginning Cheer

This class is designed to introduce young cheerleaders to correct arm motion terminology, cheers, chants, and choreography that are full of excitement and energy. Improve self-confidence, physical health, and teamwork skills all while having a ton of fun! This is a type of dance which includes turns, toe touches, split jumps, split leaps, and more, with sharp fast paced combinations incorporating the use of poms. It is highly recommended that this class be taken along with a tumbling class! Pom-poms are provided!


Intermediate Cheer

This class is designed to introduce Intermediate aged and skill level cheerleaders to correct arm motion terminology, cheers, chants, and choreography that are full of excitement and energy. Improve self-confidence, physical health, and teamwork skills all while having a ton of fun! This style will includes turns, toe touches, split jumps, split leaps, and more, with sharp fast paced combinations incorporating the use of Poms. It is highly recommended that this class be taken along with a tumbling class!

 

TUMBLING

Intro to Tumbling

This 45 minute class is designed for our newest little dancers, ages 3-5, who have not had that opportunity to tumble before. Basic skills of tumbling will be introduced and worked on establishing a solid base of technique and while instilling confidence in tumbling.

Beginning Tumbling

Tumbling training teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all, discipline and concentration. This class targets building the strength and flexibility that your tumbler/dancer will need to properly perform acrobatic skills. Learn the basics such as forward and backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges. We’ll start out by teaching basic tumbling safety rules and provide an evaluation for further placement.

Intermediate Tumbling

Tumbling training teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, and above all, discipline and concentration. This class targets building the strength and flexibility your tumbler/dancer will need to properly perform acrobatic skills. Core, upper body, and leg strength will be developed in a fast-paced environment to improve cardio as well as muscular endurance, followed by exercises to increase flexibility.

Basic tumbling skills can be an added bonus for any dancer or athlete. With careful, quality instruction, a dancer will gain more flexibility and upper body strength, giving him or her a substantial advantage in today's demanding choreography. It is an excellent way to learn spatial awareness, an important element in partnering and ensemble work.

Advanced Tumbling

HIP HOP

Beginning Hip Hop 

Beginning Hip Hop will include the basic skills needed to further styles of Hip Hop Dance. This is a fun and energetic class that is ALWAYS a crowd pleaser come recital time. Our Hip hop classes expose you to as many of the popular styles as possible. Hip Hop is one of the highest energy, versatile styles of dance, especially here at Dance Addiction!

Hip Hop uses your own personal rhythm, as well as current dance moves and trends to create fun combinations. Classes include hip hop, popping, locking, break dancing and more, while using age appropriate music. Hip hop encourages self-confidence, rhythm, and coordination.

This Class is reserved for dancers who have taken at least 3 years of Hip Hop Hop Technique and have tricks mastered. Hip Hop includes the styles of dance you see on shows like America's Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance. Our Hip hop classes expose you to as many of the popular styles as possible. Hip Hop is one of the highest energy, versatile styles of dance, especially here at Dance Addiction!

BALLET & JAZZ

Beginning Jazz, Ages 5+

An upbeat and energetic class using current, age appropriate music. Designed to develop strength, body placement, coordination, along with musicality and performance style. Students will learn jazz isolations, proper terminology, turn technique, floor work, and combinations. Because jazz technique requires a sound knowledge of ballet terminology, we recommend this class be taken in conjunction with a ballet class.

Beginning Ballet/Jazz, Ages 5+

Combination class focusing on beginning Ballet technique & poise, along with beginning Jazz movement and fun!

Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms and should always be a priority to dancers. This class incorporates grace and precision of movement, while working on the fundamentals of dance. Dancers will focus on their individual body alignment and overall body awareness, while emphasizing the proper usage of their ballet technique. A MUST for all dancers wanting to reach the next level!

The Jazz portion of the class will focus on a more upbeat and energetic jazz style, using current age appropriate music. Designed to develop and maintain strength, body placement, coordination, musicality and performance. Students will learn jazz isolations, proper terminology, turn technique, floor work, and combinations.

Because jazz technique requires a sound knowledge of ballet terminology, we feel like this is a perfect combo class designed for beginning dancers!

Intermediate Jazz

An upbeat and energetic class, using current age appropriate music. Designed to develop strength, body placement, coordination, musicality and performance style. Students will learn jazz isolations, proper terminology, turn technique, floor work, and combinations. Because jazz technique requires a sound knowledge of ballet terminology, we recommend this class be taken in conjunction with a ballet class.
